What is Microshading aka Powder/Ombrè Brows?

The safest eyebrow PMU technique. Microshading is done with a machine pen made specifically for permanent cosmetics. The brows are shaded in using a single point needle controlled by the adjusted machinery pen creating tiny pinpoint dots that fill in sparse areas. This technique appears softer than traditional Microblading and heals similar to brow powder. With Microshading we have the ability to make your eyebrows defined and looked as natural or bold as you like!

Why do we prefer Microshading over Microblading?

  • Causes less damage to the skin

  • Ideal for all skin types

  • Holds better in the skin overtime, resulting in less touch-up services required to maintain look

  • Heals with a softer and more natural appearance than Microblading

  • Best technique for brow corrections

  • Blends in with all hair types

  • The longest lasting technique

Why would I NOT consider a PMU procedure?

We cannot do any PMU procedures if the following currently applies to you:

  • Under 18 years old

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Diabetes (Unless well managed and doctor provides written release)

  • Taking blood thinners

  • Skin disease; such as eczema or psoriasis

  • Transmittable blood conditions like HIV or Hepatitis

  • Healing disorders; Uncontrolled high blood pressure

  • Acne or skin medications such as Accutane

  • Active skin cancer

  • Undergoing chemotherapy or radiation; must have a doctor’s written release if treatment has been completed recently

  • Open wounds or sores in the eyebrow area

  • Low pain tolerance

  • Scars in the brow may prevent pigment from taking. Schedule a consult before scheduling a PMU appointment

  • Prone to Keloids

  • Previous permanent makeup; Schedule a consult to see if a cover up can be done

What do I need to know or do prior to my visit?

  • No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before appointment (Why? It can influence bleeding during the service which can effect how well pigment holds into the skin.)

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Advil or Ibuprofen 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Discontinue use of Retin-A, Retinol, Glycolic Acid, AHAs/BHAs, Salicylic Acid and/or any topical acne treatments 2 weeks before your appointment.

  • Avoid heavy exfoliants, chemical peels, microderm abrasion or any other medical grade facial services for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.

  • Avoid scheduling Botox and/or filler appointments 2 weeks before & 2 weeks after your appointment.

  • Avoid sun bathing or any tanning services for 1 week before your appointment.

  • Brow waxing is included in your PMU appointment so your brows will be perfectly shaped, if you want to have your brows shaped elsewhere before your appointment, you can do so at least 2-3 days before.

  • Do not have your brows tinted a week or less before your appointment.

  • It is OK to come to your appointment with your brows filled-in so we can see how you like your brows shaped. Your brows will be properly cleansed before we start the PMU process.

  • Feel free to bring pictures of your favorite brow styles!
